Learning at NSH

The NSH Difference

NSH staff members are committed to making learning a stress-free, positive experience for our students. The interests, strengths, and goals of every student are considered by caring adults.

Daily Schedule

Our daily schedule is designed around learning to support our students. Direct instruction and discussion sections will be no larger than 20 students.

Project-Based Learning

Allows students to demonstrate deep understanding through applying, evaluating, and creating knowledge and skills.

Later Start Time

Since most high school students are not ready to learn at extremely early hours, classes at New School High begin at 8:30 am and end at 3:30 pm.

Academic Grading

Grades have three purposes: to provide useful feedback to the student, to document progress, and to help teachers plan next steps for that student.
