Sam Barresi brings a wealth of educational experience to the New School High Leadership Team. During his highly successful 40 plus years in education, he has worked as a classroom teacher, a principal, an assistant superintendent and superintendent of schools. In addition he has served in a number of leadership roles at the state level including being State President of the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association, State President of the Michigan Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, and being appointed to Michigan Department of Education and US Department of Education Elementary School Review Panel. Sam was also appointed to a number of the Michigan Department of Education curriculum committees. He has presented at both state and national conferences on teacher and administrator evaluations as well as timely curriculum and instructional topics.

Sam earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Detroit, Masters and Specialist Degrees from Eastern Michigan University, and a Doctorate Degree from Western Michigan University. The past 30 years, Sam and his wife Marta have been residents of Plymouth where they raised two daughters.
